NY Times and ArtNet’s “Best in Art of 2015”

We’re thrilled to get a shout-out from both the NY Times and ArtNet in their end of year round-ups.

Chief art critic Holland Cotter gave us a mention in the NY Times’ “Best in Art of 2015”, citing “the strengthening presence of activist collectives like Not An Alternative, Occupy Museums and Interference Archive, who say yes by saying no.” Read the full article in the NY Times here.

And lest we take ourselves too seriously, we also made ArtNet’s “Most Appalling International Art World Scandals of 2015” list. Under the banner of “museum protests” (#15), our interventions at the Louvre, Brooklyn Museum, and American Museum of Natural History were named, along with the efforts of other groups involved in the growing museum liberation movement–such as Liberate Tate and BP or Not BP?, artist collectives that aim to liberate British museums from ties to oil giant BP.

Huzzah!
